RUN - 2.07 miles 35.5 min (22 min @ 4.0 - 4.7 mph) (13.5 min @ 3.4 - 3.8 mph) Next goal: tomorrow, 2.25 miles I really didn't think I was going to make 2 miles today. At first I thought I'd be happy if I just reached 1.6 miles like I did Tuesday (although I am now thinking I overestimated my speed and was probably doing about 4.4 mph Tuesday). I was tired, I was unmotivated and down, my asthma was really acting up and I forgot my inhaler. I was going a little slower pace and walking a little more to pace myself. "Just get to 1.65 miles", I thought, "at least improve on Tuesday." I got to 1.65 miles and felt pretty beat, but knew that I could do at least 1/10 of a mile more. 1.75 is a nice number, a quarter mile increase on yesterday's goal, I could do that. When I got to 1.75, another 1/10 of a mile seemed hard, but I figured it was within my reach. At 1.85, 2 miles was so close I couldn't just stop now. As for why I went to 2.07, that was partially because I wanted to cool down at least a little, but more to do with my weird aversion to even numbers and multiples of 5 and my attraction to primes. I even have to set my alarm at weird times like 5:53 or 6:11, or it bothers me enough to disurb my sleep. In a pinch, an even number that ends in 6 or 4 will do (but never 8 and rarely 2). Anyways, that's a whole other obsessive weird quirk and I need a shower. I'm kind of disappointed that I won't reach at least 3 miles again by my 30th, but at least I'm running. I just signed up for the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure 5K in October with my sister. We've started a team, she's raced for about 5 years now, I've done it twice before but haven't been in the past 2 years. If you would like to donate you can go to http://komensuncoast.kintera.org/faf/r.asp?t=4&i=236107&u=236107-182585730I might do some fund raising shirts - something like "real women run". Let me know if you've be interested. <3
